Harmonics Quartet!

Harmonics teams four a cappella singers who believe in bringing joy to making music. We came together in July 2011 and seven months later, we took home 4th place Medals at the Greater New York Regional Competition! One year later, we increased our score by almost 40 points to become the 2nd Place quartet for Greater New York and New Jersey Region of Sweet Adelines International! We are part of two incredible chorus families, Harmony Celebration Chorus and Greater Nassau Chorus.

Although new to Harmonics, Tenor Faith MacDonnell is not new to Sweet Adelines or quartetting. She is proud to have spent her first 25 years as a member of the Ramapo Valley and Harmony Celebration Choruses as well as several regional medalist quartets. She is a member of the Region 15 Faculty, a choreographer and performance coach. When not singing or dancing, Faith loves spending time gardening, bowling and sitting by the firepit with her husband Pat. She has two lovely daughters and two crazy cats (which does not mean she is a crazy cat lady- just to clarify).

A founding member of the four-time regional champion Escape Quartet, Lead Susan Schuman has a Masters Degree in Student Affairs, although the only students she manages these days are her 3 kids, Jonathan, Matthew and Rachel! A 18-year veteran of SAI, she sings with Harmony Celebration Chorus, where she is an Assistant Director. A member of the Director Certification Program and the Greater New York Region 15 faculty; Susan coaches both choruses and quartets, and gives private voice instruction.

Also a founding member of Escape, Baritone Georgette Chrystal has been part of SAI for 18 years. As baritone section leader of Harmony Celebration Chorus, she is very proud of the chorus’ success at its first International Competition. Recently elected Membership Coordinator, she enjoys giving PVI’s and running membership drives for the chorus. By day, Georgette is a Registered Nurse with many years of critical care experience. A Seton Hall University alumni, she works for one of the premier health systems in N.J. Married with 3 lovely children, Georgette fills her time by swimming, biking and running to train for her third sprint triathlon!

Bass Mona Carol is looking forward to creating beautiful music with her 3 quartet sisters. She has been a Sweet Adeline for 17 years, and has sung with the Greater Nassau Chorus her entire Sweet Adelines career. A graduate of Rutgers University, Mona lives in Middlesex, N.J., and by day, she owns a small travel agency, and is a freelance graphic designer. When she is not creating art, either vocally or visually, Mona enjoys traveling, and spending time with her loving and supportive friends and family.
